Pickleball Birthday Gifts for Dog Lovers

A birthday gift for a pickleball player who loves their dog has one advantage over most birthday shopping: you already know exactly what they care about. The only real risks are guessing the wrong breed and ordering too late. This guide covers both, with ideas at a few budgets.

Transparency note: PawsNPaddles designs and sells the breed tees, mugs and stickers in this guide. The other ideas are general and don’t point to any brand.

The short version

  • Order two to three weeks ahead. Everything is printed to order: usually 2–7 business days of production, then shipping.
  • Small gift: a breed sticker ($9.99).
  • Mid-size gift: a breed mug ($16.99), or a mug and sticker together ($26.98).
  • Main gift: a breed tee ($29.99 in S–XL), ideally with one practical extra.

Start with the date, then the breed

Most birthday-gift advice starts with ideas. For anything printed to order, it should start with the calendar. Production usually takes 2 to 7 business days before the parcel ships, carrier time comes on top, and busy periods run longer. Two to three weeks before the birthday is comfortable; less than ten days is a gamble. If you’re already late, a card that says “your present is being printed” with a photo of the design is honest and still lands well.

Then the breed. Every design is drawn around one of 51 breeds, so check their photos or ask a friend if you’re not certain. For a mixed breed, use the breed they name when people ask. You can browse every breed on one page, where each shows its tee, mug and sticker together.

Ideas by budget

About $10: a breed sticker

Right for a teammate, a club friend or a card add-on. The sticker is a 6 x 6 inch die-cut vinyl print, the size that works on a paddle bag, water bottle or laptop.

About $17 to $27: a mug, or a mug and a sticker

An 11 oz ceramic mug with the breed on both sides, for the coffee before open play. Add a sticker and it becomes a small set for $26.98, which feels more like a present than a single item at the same price.

About $30 and up: a tee plus something practical

The tee is a lightweight unisex jersey in Natural, Black, Navy or Dark Grey Heather, $29.99 for S to XL and a little more for 2XL and 3XL. Measure a T-shirt they already wear, laid flat from armpit to armpit, and choose the closest size: S 18 inches, M 20, L 22, XL 24, 2XL 26, 3XL 28. Pair it with overgrips or a few balls of the type they play with, and you’ve covered what they love and what they use.

When the whole group chips in

Doubles groups tend to celebrate birthdays at the courts. A group gift works well when it’s one good thing rather than a pile of small ones: the tee from everyone, handed over after the last game. If people want to add something personal, a sticker each costs little and ends up on everyone’s bag, which is a nice way for the birthday person to see their dog around the courts for months afterwards.

Milestone birthdays

For a big birthday, spend the extra effort on the presentation rather than the price. A mug with a bag of good coffee inside, wrapped with a new pack of overgrips, reads as thoughtful because every item connects to their routine. A handwritten note about their dog does more than any add-on.

Before you order

  • The breed, confirmed with a photo
  • Their shirt size, if you’re buying a tee (printed-to-order items can’t be exchanged for a different size)
  • Enough time: two to three weeks is safe
  • A complete delivery address, including any apartment number
